Our story
So much more
than a business.
"My main creative goal is to make something that outlasts me, and I don't just mean my products. What a blessing it is to work hard, honor craft and customer, and build a future."
Half-Dead Handiwork is a one-man shop with a family at the bench. Every piece is cut, stitched and stamped by the same hands while little ones hammer alongside on scrap leather. Your finished product isn't the only thing being built to be handed down; this business is too.
Hi, I'm
Bailey.
"Every piece that leaves my bench is made with intention in every step to honor you as the client and leather as the craft."
Half-Dead Handiwork is built on faith, family and a stubborn love for doing things the old way. I rebind the Bibles people treasure most and push my creativity to the max to make everyday leather goods in small batch drops.
The best part has never been the leather or a job well done. It's the people I get to connect with and the look on someone's face when their Bible comes home with a new life.

I was completely blown away with the final product. Bailey restored a Bible for my mother who literally reads it several times a day and the result was incredible. Thank you for keeping this Bible in commission for decades more to come!

Large Rebind · Waxy Cowhide
★★★★★
When the original cover came off my old Bible, I thought it was beyond saving, but Bailey put on a beautiful new goatskin cover while preserving all the handwritten notes I treasure. I can’t recommend Bailey highly enough for his outstanding craftsmanship and remarkable service.
